Arrival and Dismissal Safety

Oaks Community,
School parking lots can be incredibly busy for school arrival and dismissal. Safety is a primary concern of
the Oaks school staff, but it requires everyone's participation in order to ensure a safe and orderly process.
Most importantly, students, parents/guardians and pedestrians should be patient, respectful and courteous
to other drivers while driving or walking onto campus.

These safety tips can help with a safe school arrival and dismissal:

● Parking is not permitted in the red fire lanes. You may only park in the parking stalls.
● Must have a Disabled Person Placard or Plate to park in disabled person’s parking stalls.
● Be cautious of your driving speed. Drivers must operate their vehicles with due care and caution at
all times.
● All drivers will follow the direction of the school staff, and/or police directing traffic.
● Watch for other students walking, bicycling, skateboarding or any distracted pedestrians.
● PLEASE DO NOT DOUBLE PARK, MAKE A U-TURN, AND DO NOT PASS/GO
AROUND CARS STOPPED WAITING FOR PEDESTRIANS TO CROSS THE
CROSSWALK.
● PLEASE DO NOT STOP ON OR BLOCK THE CROSSWALK.
● PLEASE ENSURE YOUR CHILD USES THE CROSSWALKS ON OAKS AVENUE AND
PHILLIPS STREET, OAKS AVENUE AND CLAIR STREET AND OAKS AVENUE AND
MISSION BOULEVARD.
● PLEASE DO NOT DROP OFF/PICK UP YOUR CHILD IN THE NORTH DRIVEWAY
BUS ENTRANCE FOR ARRIVAL AND DISMISSAL.
● For the safety of residents, students, parents, and staff, please drive safely and adhere to the speed
limit and traffic safety expectations while on Oaks Avenue and Phillips Street to prevent traffic
accidents or student injury. These are residential streets and the Ontario Police Department have
been notified to assist us with traffic violations.

Los estacionamientos escolares pueden ser increíblemente ocupados para la llegada y salida de la escuela. La
seguridad es una preocupación primaria del personal de la escuela de Oaks, pero requiere la participación de todos

debido cuidado y precaución en todo momento.

● POR FAVOR, ASEGÚRESE DE QUE SU HIJO UTILIZA LOS PASOS DE PEATONES EN OAKS
AVENUE Y PHILLIPS STREET, OAKS AVENUE Y CLAIR STREET Y OAKS AVENUE Y

LA LLEGADA Y SALIDA.
● Para la seguridad de los residentes, estudiantes, padres y personal, por favor conduzca con cuidado y
adhiérase al límite de velocidad y a las expectativas de seguridad de tráfico mientras esté en Oaks Avenue y
Phillips Street para prevenir accidentes de tráfico o lesiones a los estudiantes. Estas son calles residenciales
y el Departamento de Policía de Ontario ha sido notificado para ayudarnos con las violaciones de
